You're reading: Wizz Air Ukraine applies for 18 new international routes

Wizz Air Ukraine (Kyiv) has filed an application with the aviation authorities of Ukraine to perform flights on 18 new routes, Airline CEO Akos Bus said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

According to him, the airline has applied for flights to Tel Aviv,
Istanbul, Dubai, Vilnius, Prague, Warsaw, Larnaca, Naples, Thessaloniki,
Moscow, St. Petersburg, Baku, Yerevan, Minsk, and Batumi.

Bus noted that if the company’s applications are satisfied, the
company intends within three years to increase its fleet to eight
aircraft. Currently the company’s fleet consists of two Airbus 320
aircraft.

“This will allow us to carry 2.6 million passengers per year,” he
said. He added that the company would receive a response from Ukraine’s
aviation authorities soon.

“We are talking about weeks,” he said.

As reported, Wizz Air Ukraine in 2012 carried 630,000 passengers to and from Ukraine, which is 10.5% up on 2011.

Wizz Air Ukraine is part of Wizz Air Group. It operates two Airbus-320 aircraft. It flies on 17 routes in nine countries.

Wizz Air Group started work in 2004. Its member companies fly to
Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Norway, Finland, Sweden,
Turkey, Greece and other countries.

The fleet consists of 39 Airbus-320 aircraft.
