Kyiv-based AeroSvit on December 21, 2012, cancelled flights from Kyiv's Boryspil Airport to New York (the United States) and Bangkok (Thailand), the airlines wrote on its Facebook page.

“In particular, the arrival of flight No. 172 from Bangkok, the
departures of flight No.131 to New York and to flight No.171 to Bangkok
have been cancelled today,” reads the posting.

As AeroSvit’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine, both flights –
Kyiv-Bangkok and Kyiv-New York – have been cancelled for technical
reasons.

According to the press service, one long-range Boeing 767 had not
arrived after its c-check on time. The arrival is expected on December
22.

The departure of the second plane was delayed in Bangkok. After
leaving Bangkok for Kyiv on December 20, the pilots decided to return to
the departure airport to additionally examine the in-flight
configuration support system because of an on-board sensor signal. The
system has been checked, its work is normal, and the plane is being
prepared for departure from Bangkok.

Moreover, flights from Goa (India) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
scheduled for December 22 may also delay due to the late arrival of two
planes at their base.

“After the planes are back to operation, the regularity of long-range
flights will be gradually restored,” the press service said.
