Ukraine's AeroSvit and Vietnam Airlines have concluded a code sharing agreement on the route between Kyiv (Boryspil) and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

As AeroSvit said in a press release, the agreement was signed in Kyiv on Wednesday after a meeting of the Ukrainian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, research and engineering cooperation, which was held as part of an official visit of Premier of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung to Ukraine.

Under the agreement, AeroSvit is the operating carrier of the Kyiv-Ho Chi Minh City route, while Vietnam Airlines is the marketing carrier.

The Ukrainian company will start servicing the route on Dec. 21, 2011.

Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will be carried out on Wednesday and Saturdays and back to Kyiv on Thursdays and Sundays.

Moreover, AeroSvit and Vietnam Airlines are finalizing a special prorate agreement.

The cooperation will let the two companies jointly transport passengers via Ho Chi Minh City to almost 20 destinations in Vietnam and other Southeast and East Asia, as well as Australia, including Hanoi, Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Vientiane.

CJSC AeroSvit was established in 1994. Its fleet consists of 16 medium-range Boeing 737s and seven long-haul Boeing 767s. In addition to that, it operates Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Embraer 145, Embraer 195 and An-148 aircraft jointly with partner airlines.

Vietnam Airlines in 1993 obtained stats of that country’s national air carrier.

Presently, it services routes linking 20 cities in Vietnam and services 26 international routes in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
