You're reading: AeroSvit’s new Boeing 737-800 makes maiden trip to Tel Aviv

The new Boeing 737-800 of Kyiv-based AeroSvit Airlines made its maiden commercial trip from Kyiv to Tel Aviv and back on April 3, the press service of the company reported.

According to it, the aircraft was assembled at the plant of Boeing company in Seattle and delivered to Kyiv on March 31.

The Boeing 737-800 is the first new generation aircraft of AeroSvit, and the first aircraft in Ukraine equipped with a Boeing Sky Interior air show. Its passenger cabin sits 174 people.

This Boeing is the first of eleven airplanes of the Next Generation 737 that were ordered by AeroSvit under a program to renovate the medium-range fleet.

"This is the biggest order for new generation airplanes in Ukraine," the press service of AeroSvit quoted co-chairman of the supervisory board Hryhoriy Hurtovy as saying.

The aircraft are to be delivered from 2012 to 2016, and next Boeing 737-800 is due for delivery in Q2, 2012.

AeroSvit will receive all of the aircraft on long-term operation leasing conditions.

AeroSvit was created in 1994. It is based at Boryspil airport in Kyiv. The company serves 80 international routes to 34 countries as well as domestic routes. It has been a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 1996 and of the Association of European Airlines since 2008.
