There are no obstacles to Ukraine obtaining the next tranche of an International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan, according to Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov.

"I say again that we don’t need money now," Azarov told the press on Friday.

"If we need money, we’ll go to Washington, put forward certain conditions, look at the conditions put forward by our creditors, and obtain the tranche. There are no obstacles to obtaining the tranche."

Azarov said that cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF is not only continuing, but is actively developing.

He said that the IMF Mission had postponed its visit to Ukraine as the result of talks between Ukraine and the fund.

"Yesterday’s IMF statement shows that cooperation is not only continuing, but actively developing. The realistic situation is than our finance minister, our energy and coal industry minister, and the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine held talks with the IMF leadership, agreed to determine how the arrangement is being realized, and planned the terms of the mission’s arrival [in Ukraine]," Azarov said.
