The Ukrainian government is planning to work on a state order for research work and bolster demand for domestic scientific products in 2012, according to Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov.

"In 2012 we’re planning to create all of the required elements of innovation infrastructure… We should improve the state order for research work, and make it so that the domestic market produces demand for scientific products from domestic companies," he said, opening cabinet meeting on Wednesday in Kyiv.

The premier said that fund for support of small innovation business, a fund for licensing inventions abroad, a venture company to finance risky projects, a leasing company to introduce domestic LED equipment would be created and other mechanisms for financial support of innovations would be introduced.

Azarov also said that it is necessary to resume operation of technical parks and said that the relevant cabinet resolution is being drawn up.
