Ukraine has built enough modern works to refuse completely from imports of metal constructions from the Russian Federation, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said in Brovary (Kyiv region) on Monday.

"We've almost refused from buying metal constructions from Russia. Now we are able to produce at our works everything we used to buy from Russia," Azarov said, according to the information and public liaisons department of the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

He stressed that the refusal from imports of metal constructions could allow Ukraine to save currency.

The statement also mentions that due to unreasonable cost of Russian natural gas Ukraine is transferring its power units to domestic coal and will keep cutting volumes of purchased hydrocarbon in future.
