Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv region) could suspend the servicing flights of debtor airlines until payment discipline is regained, the airport's press service has said.

According to the report, Boryspil airport has exhausted internal options for crediting the airlines and is considering the use of economic sanctions to those of them that do not comply with their contract terms.

According to the airport, at present the debt of national air carriers stands at several tens of millions of hryvnias.

In this regard, Boryspil airport is asking passengers to monitor information on the departure of flights, ensuring the timely and quality servicing of all companies that comply with the terms of the contracts.

As reported, Boryspil International Airport on March 14 suspended servicing of AeroSvit’s flights due to a problem of advance payments for services provided by the airport to the carrier. The company said that delays with flights are linked to technical problems in advance payment system of the airport, although the payment was carried out and AeroSvit was waiting for resumption of servicing of its flights.

Later, AeroSvit reported that by evening on March 14 almost all previously delayed medium-haul flights had been resumed, and long-haul aircraft departed in the afternoon.
