The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has prolonged the term of signing a production sharing agreement (PSA) for the Oleske deposit with Chevron until August 24, 2013.

The decision is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 415-r of June 12, 2013.

The terms were prolonged at the initiative of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Ukraine and Chevron.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on June
12 decided to forward a draft PSA with Chevron on the Oleske deposit to
the local authorities for approval.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Tefft said that Chevron’s talks on
shale gas production in Ukraine’s western regions are close to reaching
the stage of signing an agreement.

Ukraine conducted three tenders for production sharing agreements
(PSA) on the Yuzovske (the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions), Oleske (the
Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions) and Skyfske fields (Black Sea shelf)
in 2012.

Chevron won the tender for the development of the Oleske field, Shell
for the Yuzovske field and a consortium headed by U.S. ExxonMobil for
the Skyfske field.
