Six new high-speed Hyundai trains will be supplied to Ukraine by May 7-10 this year, Deputy Director General of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia Leonid Loboiko told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.

"The first two trains will arrive in mid-March, the next two trains in the middle of April and two more trains by May 7-10," he said.

According to Loboiko, trains will run between Kyiv and Lviv, Kyiv and Kharkiv, Kyiv and Donetsk in pendulum mode.

With reference to Vice Prime Minister, Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov, the booking of tickets for new high-speed Hyundai trains will start from May 15 this year via the Internet.

Ukrzaliznytsia and Hyundai Corporation signed a contract to supply ten high-speed trains in December 2010.

The first six trains will connect the four cities hosting Euro 2012.

On the new trains, a trip from Kyiv to Kharkiv will take three-and-a-half hours, to Lviv four-and-a-half hours, and to Donetsk five-and-a-half hours.
