Natural gas stocks in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities as of Feb. 20, 2013 total around 11.5 billion cubic meters, Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.

“As of today, stocks are nearly 11.5 billion cubic meters,” he said.

He said that the 2013/14 heating season is stable in the country.

The minister said that payments of national joint-stock company
Naftogaz Ukrainy with Russia’s Gazprom are being settled “in line with
our agreements.”

“We really have certain problems with timely payments, but we’re settling them with our strategic partners,” he said.

Stavytsky said that Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to prolong the agreement
with Gazprom on the prolongation of the price of Russian gas of $268.50
per 1,000 cubic meters for the second quarter of 2014.

As reported, gas stocks in Ukrainian underground storage facilities as of December 31, 2013 totaled 14.765 billion cubic meters.

Ukraine pumped 11.635 billion cubic meters of gas to underground storage facilities.

Pumping out of natural gas in 2013 exceeded pumping into underground
storage facilities by 8.9% or 1.03 billion cubic meters, being 12.665
billion cubic meters. Some 12.328 billion cubic meters was pumped out
underground storage facilities of Ukrtransgaz and 337 million cubic
meters from underground storage facilities of Chornomornaftogaz.

Ukraine has 13 underground gas storage facilities, with a total
active gas storage capacity of more than 31 billion cubic meters.

Ukrtransgaz operates 12 gas storage facilities and a system of trunk
gas pipelines, Chornomornaftogaz operates one gas storage facility.
Naftogaz owns 100% stakes in the companies.
