Sochi, August 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Russia's Gazprom thinks gas cooperation with Ukraine is possible along the same lines as with Belarus.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with Gazprom chief Alexei Miller and Ukrainian Energy and Coal Minister Yuriy Boiko at his Bocharov Ruchei residence in Sochi.

Miller told reporters after the meeting that Boiko had unveiled proposals on gas transportation cooperation between Russia and Ukraine. He said the proposals covered "not only cooperation in the gas transportation sphere but cooperation in other areas too."

"We’ll analyze these proposals, give them our assessment, and send a reply to our Ukrainian friends," Miller said.

"In Gazprom’s opinion, the development of cooperation in the gas sphere could be built according to the same model as the one we are working on with our Belarusian friends," Miller said.
