You're reading: Housing prices in Kyiv in May down by 0.5% on average

The average price of one square meter of residential property in Kyiv fell by 0.53%, to $1,833.40 in May, reads a survey of the Union of Realtors of Ukraine and Kyiv.

 The experts said that the average price of one-room apartment in high-rise apartment blocks in Kyiv as of June 1, 2012 stood at $53,850, that for a standard one-room apartment – $71,730, for a two-room apartment – $98,370 and for a three-room apartment – $126,810.

The survey says that prices in Kyiv in early June are 2.5% higher than as of early summer in 2011. The price of apartments in high-rise apartment blocks grew by 7.2% year-over-year, and that for apartments built in the Khruschev period by 4.11%, while the prices of apartments in modern house grew by 5.87%. The prices of multi-room apartments in houses built in the Stalin period slightly fell, apart from buildings that have been renovated, demand for which is very high.
