The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine is negotiating with several countries to provide domestic dairy exporters with the possibility of entering new markets, First Vice Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has said.

"The ministry is actively participating in work on issues concerning access to the agricultural markets of countries that are entering the WTO, and defending the interests of domestic producers by increasing exports to these countries through reducing their customs rates," he said.

According to the official, in particular, the agricultural ministry is currently in talks with Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Yemen, Laos, and Lebanon.

"We have agreed the text of a protocol between Montenegro and Ukraine regarding the completion of bilateral negotiations on access to Montenegro’s market of goods and services on its accession to the WTO," added Khoroshkovsky.

He also noted that the ministry is actively participating in the work on the issue of the reasonability of signing agreements on a free trade zone with Canada, Turkey, Serbia, Syria, Singapore, Israel and Morocco, as well as the development of a new agreement between Ukraine and the Customs Union.

"This work will allow Ukraine to ease the promotion of agricultural and food products to foreign markets and will facilitate the increase in exports," he added.
