LAZ holding has finished the delivery to Donetsk of 30 city buses, around which a conflict between Donetsk city council and LAZ holding on the change of the delivery schedule appeared.

The press service of LAZ told Interfax-Ukraine that all of the buses were delivered on July 29, 2012.

“The terms of the supply of buses were changed due to the fact that
before Euro 2012, Donetsk city ordered additional buses from LAZ
[several agreements were signed due to the restricted financial
capabilities of cities, lists of equipment and units were changed and
buses were supplied in batches]. The agreement was signed in early 2012,
while it was paid for only in April. Due to the postponement of the
payment, the bus delivery schedule was changed – it takes five or six
months to produce them,” the press service said.

The press service added that LAZ accumulated all resources to be
ahead of the schedule, although the engine manufacturer – Deutz – failed
to reduce its delivery schedule due to structural changes.

LAZ leased free of charge tourist buses for servicing championship
guests during Euro 2012, understanding the need for transport.

Ukrainian media reports said that Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianenko
in the middle of July at a press conference in Donetsk accused LAZ of
failing to make deliveries and declared that the city council had filed a
claim against LAZ in the economic court.

Media reports said that Donetsk demanded the return of the funds it
paid (UAH 26 million), while LAZ considered this impossible, as spare
parts and materials for production of buses have been already bought.

LAZ holding is one of the largest manufacturers of buses and trolleybuses in Ukraine.
