You're reading: Leasing of warehouses in Kyiv region 80% up in nine months, say experts

The leasing of warehouses in Kyiv region in January-September 2011 expanded by 80% year-over-year, to 174,960 square meters, reads a report of Kyiv-based DTZ company for the third quarter of 2011.

The largest share in the structure of demand belonged to transport companies (around 34%), the share of producers and distributors was around 17%, and the share of pharmaceutical companies was some 14%.

The new supply on the industrial and logistics real estate market was only 29,510 square meters, a 55% fall year-over-year.

DTZ said that in the fourth quarter of 2011, the first stage of the Amtel logistics complex of 41,400 square meters in Kyiv region is planned. It will become one of the largest facilities commissioned this year.

Rent rates in the first nine months of 2011 totaled from $5.50-6.50 per square meter, and according to the company’s projections, by late 2011 and in early 2012 it will not change.

DTZ also forecasts the vacancy level of over 10% until the end of the year and in 2012.

DTZ was set up in Kyiv in 1994. It is a representative office of international company DTZ, which offers real estate services and has 140 offices 42 countries.

Kyiv’s DTZ company provides consulting services, including agent commercial and housing real estate services, brokerage and representing the interests of leasers, services in the acquisition of land plots, and services in the hotel sector.

It also assesses property under international and Ukrainian standards, carries out studies, is engaged in the professional management and exploitation of buildings, and provides general consultation services, as well as development and investment consultations.
