Miller Brands Ukraine (Donetsk), one of the largest breweries in Ukraine, has increased its beer production capacity by 34%, to 650,000 decaliters (dal) per week.

According to the company, investment in the project to increase the plant’s capacity totaled over EUR 10 million.

A press release states that the plant within the project commissioned 12 new cylindrical-conical tanks intended for the fermentation and maturation of beer. In addition, it installed another wort line, modified part of the packaging lines and increased the performance of the filtration facility.

The company also upgraded the bottling line so that its productivity increased by 21%, from 33,000 to 40,000 bottles per hour. It also expanded its warehouses to store finished goods.

The report notes that the expansion of capacity is due to the increasing demand for the products of the company.

“Last year we reached a ceiling, and almost the entire season we worked at 100% capacity,” the press service said, citing Technical Director Vasyl Basmanov.

As reported, Miller Brands Ukraine is among the four leaders of the Ukrainian beer market. Until 2012, the company belonged to SABMiller, and in March 2012, as a result of a strategic alliance between two large international groups, Anadolu Efes got control over Miller Brands Ukraine
