You're reading: Naftogaz starts oil processing at Lysychansk oil refinery

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has started crude oil processing at Lysychansk oil refinery (PJSC LINIK, Luhansk region), a source at the government has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the source, in late April the plant received 34,000 tonnes of Urals oil for refining.

In addition, a source at TNK-BP Commerce told Interfax-Ukraine that the plant plans in May to get about 100,000 tonnes of crude oil for processing.

As reported, Naftogaz plans to process 100,000 tonnes of oil at Lysychansk oil refinery monthly. The company plans to refine up to 1 million tonnes of oil at the plant in 2011.

Naftogaz is intending to enter the market with produced oil goods to perform commodity interventions.

Currently, the capacity of Lysychansk oil refinery is around 8 million tonnes of oil per year.
