MOSCOW - The Nord Stream gas pipeline suspended operations for four hours on Tuesday, but pumping started up again at around 7:00 p.m. Moscow time, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.

Earlier, an official representative of the pipeline company Nord Stream told Interfax, "This was a short suspension for technical servicing needed for checking out the gas pipeline at the stage of moving to project capacity."

All orders will be fulfilled on time, he said.

The pipeline officially went into service on Nov. 8.

The 1,224-km pipeline’s first stage will carry up to 27.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It has so far reached 20% of capacity.
