The Russian consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor expects that in coming days the watchdog receives Ukrainian cheese for laboratory tests and then it will give green light to supplies of Ukrainian cheese to the Russian market.

"As soon as the samples arrive to us, we’ll carry out tests and the issues of resumption of supplies will be settled," Rospotrebnadzor chief and Russian chief public health official Gennady Onishchenko told Interfax on May 5.

He said that on May 4 he had a phone talks with Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko.

"Ukraine informed that allegedly samples arrived to Moscow in the indicated laboratory. Unfortunately, this has not happened," he said.

"All organization issues have been lifted, apart from one – delivery of samples to the laboratory," he said.
