The State Architectural and Building Inspectorate is planning to draft the necessary regulatory and subordinate regulatory acts in the sphere of housing and utilities in 2012, the head of the inspectorate, Oleksandr Rybak, has said.

"Today the inspectorate also oversees the housing and utilities sphere. In 2012 we are planning to work on regulatory acts, subordinate regulatory acts in the sphere of housing and utilities, and at the legal level we will make amendments to nine laws and about 30-40 subordinate legal acts," Rybak said during a press conference entitled "How Is a Project Approved under the New Conditions?" in Kyiv on Nov. 11.

According to Rybak, the amendments will refer to the improvement of facilities, associations of apartment block co-owners, housing and utility offices, domestic waste, waste storage disposals, etc.

Earlier, the housing and utilities inspectorate was responsible for controls in the sphere, he added.

Rybak also said that despite of the simplification of the documents registration system, inspectorate employees still have a lot of work to do.

The head of the inspectorate also said that he plans to complete the reorganization of the inspectorate by the end of 2011.

In December 2010 Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree on the optimization of the system of central executive agencies, which, in particular, reorganized the State Architectural and Building Inspectorate.

As a result of the reorganization, the status of the inspectorate was upgraded and now it is directly subordinated to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
