You're reading: Ukraine exports 22.8 million tonnes of grain in 2012-2013

Grain exports from Ukraine in the 2012-2013 marketing year (MY, July-August), according to live data, amounted to 22.82 million tonnes, which is 4.7 percent up from the previous season, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine has said.

According to the ministry, in particular Ukraine exported 6.8 million tonnes of wheat (5.9 million tonnes of food wheat), 2.1 million tonnes of barley, and 13.5 million tonnes of corn.

In June, the country exported 958,000 tonnes of grain, including 152,700 tonnes of wheat, 3,200 tonnes of barley, and 799,400 tonnes of corn.

Earlier the ministry forecast that Ukraine in the 2012-2013 marketing year would export more than 23 million tonnes of grain with the average figure for the last seven years being 14.7 million tonnes.
