Ukraine as of December 3, 2012 had threshed 45.96 million tonnes of grain from 14.55 million hectares, which is 99% of the fields to be processed, the press service of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry has reported.

The press service said that the average yield for grain in the
country is 31.6 centners per hectare, while as of December 3, 2011 it
was 37.6 centners per hectare.

The report says that Ukraine continues harvesting corn, soybeans and sugar beets.

As of December 3, 2012, farmers had harvested 19.58 million tonnes of
corn from 4.22 million hectares (96% of fields). The average yield is
46.4 centners per hectare, while last year it was 62.9 centners per
hectare.

Farmers harvested 2.4 million tonnes of soybeans from 1.4 million
hectares (99% of fields). Its average yield is 16.7 centners per
hectare, compared to 20.5 centners per hectare last year.

As of December 3, 2012, sugar beets had been harvested from 454,000
hectares or 99.8% of fields. Some 18.3 million tonnes of sugar beets
were harvested, with the average yield being 403 centners per hectare
(370 centners per hectare year-over-year).
