You're reading: Ukraine permits handling of meat, fish, alcohol, tobacco at Yuzhny port

The Ukrainian government has permitted the export, import and transit of alcohol, tobacco, fish, meat and products made of them (codes 0201—0210, 0302—0307, 1601 00—1605) via the Yuzhny maritime merchandise port.

Cabinet resolution No. 612 of July 11, 2012 has been passed and posted on the government’s Web site.

Until recently, exports and imports of alcohol and tobacco, on which excise duties are imposed, was permitted via 12 ports, and that for fish and meat – via 16 ports.

Yuzhny port was founded in 1978. It is located on the coast of the Adzhalyk Firth and is the deepest harbor in Ukraine (the depth of its mooring channel is 15.5 meters, and the depth at its docks is 14 to 15.5 meters). The length of its berths totals around 2.6 kilometers.
