"The fund has bought almost 900,000 tonnes of bread grain under forward contracts and it will buy another two million tonnes in July-October 2011," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Bezuhly said that the Agrarian Fund intends to start tender purchases of grain of the new harvest from June 30, 2011.

"Starting tomorrow, the Agrarian Fund will carry out tenders to buy grain every week. A first tender is held tomorrow. We’re planning to buy wheat, rye and buckwheat at prices set earlier by the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry," he said.

The Agrarian Fund was established by government order No. 543 of July 6, 2005. It is an authorized state agency for the implementation of pricing policy in the agricultural sector and is managed by the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.
