The Ukrainian government has settled the issue of gaining customs clearance for 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas in underground storage facilities of the national JSC Naftogaz Ukraine, which, pursuant to a ruling of the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal company, must be returned to the Swiss-registered gas trader RosUkrEnergo (RUE).

The government issued relevant resolution No. 1061 on Nov. 15, 2010, which was posted on its website on Wednesday.

According to the document, the customs clearance of gas will be conducted based on copies of a foreign trade agreement, a copy of the agreement on the storage of the gas in the underground storage facilities, copies of the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal’s decisions and the decisions of the Ukrainian courts confirming Naftogaz Ukrainy’s obligations to the RosUkrEnergo.
