Ukrainian vehicle producers in January-October 2012, according to preliminary data, produced 67,083 cars and buses, which is 22% down from 2011.
According to a press release from the Ukrautoprom association, the drop in production (in January-September it was also 22%), as before, is due to the reduction of car output: in the ten months it decreased by 24%, to 61,495 vehicles.
In addition, during this period bus production continued to fall, declining by 5%, to 2,851 vehicles, the production of trucks and commercial cars reduced by 1.7%, to 2,737 units.
According to the association, in October 2012 Ukraine produced 7,085 vehicles, which is 26% down from October 2011, however, compared to September 2012 it grew by 14%.
Car production, in particular, reduced by 26% compared to October 2011 and amounted to 6,546 cars, the output of commercial vehicles fell by 38%, to 186 units, that of buses (excluding LAZ) was down by 18%, to 353 units.
In January-October 2012, Zaporizhia Automobile Plant (ZAZ), the largest Ukrainian automaker, reduced production of vehicles by 26%, to 37,530 units.
