The assets of Russia's OJSC VimpelCom in Ukraine - CJSC Ukrainian Radio Systems and Golden Telecom Ltd. – are to work under brands of CJSC Kyivstar GSM, the head of the Ukrainian business unit - Vimpelcom Ltd and Kyivstar President Ihor Lytovchenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

"The new united company will operate under the Kyivstar, DJUICE and Kyivstar Business brands," he said.

Lytovchenko said that the Beeline brand would be removed from the Ukrainian mass market in 2011.

"Today we launched national roaming service for Beeline subscribers and introduce tariffs plans that are beneficial for subscribers of both networks," he said.

Marketing head of the united operator Taras Parkhomenok noted that mobile communications services under the Beeline brand would be sold as "niche" services meant for tourists from the countries, where Vimpelcom Ltd. will work under this brand.

"They [the services] will be sold in special zones – at airports, stations," he said.

Vimpelcom Ltd. was established in April 2010 and owns a 100% stake in VimpelCom and Ukrainian mobile operators Kyivstar and Ukrainian Radio Systems. The key shareholders in Vimpelcom are Alfa-group and Telenor, with 44.7% and 36% stakes respectively.
