Kyiv City State Administration has described its relations with PJSC Kyivenergo (Kyiv) as mutually beneficial and plans in autumn 2012 to present a program for further cooperation, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"We have big debts to Kyivenergo, primarily those of housing and utilities departments, municipal enterprises, the population. There is a problem of derelict networks that pose a very great risk in the heating season. This is the set of problems that must be resolved. We are forming a policy of interaction between the city and Kyivenergo, and we plan to announce it this autumn. An ad hoc group is working now, it is developing proposals in this direction," said Popov.

According to Popov, the city is interested in achieving agreements with Kyivenergo, under which it is clear when the city has no debts, Kyivenergo invests in the development, the prospect of the company's development is visible, taking into account the need to invest billions of U.S. dollars in energy saving, technologies and engineering networks.

"It's not a question of our time [a transfer of networks to concession]. Now we have quite good mutually beneficial relations with Kyivenergo. It has been investing in the reconstruction of our municipal networks for two years. This was about UAH 500 million for 2011 and 2012. Today this level of cooperation is mutually beneficial," Popov said.

Popov also said that Kyivenergo is ready to start taking derelict networks onto its books.
