NEW YORK (AP) — Two-time FIFA player of the year Lionel Messi and new signing Alexis Sanchez are among several stars who will skip Barcelona's upcoming three-game tour of the United States.
The reigning European champions will rest players who were involved in the just-completed Copa America: Messi, Argentine teammate Javier Mascherano, Chile’s Sanchez and Brazil’s Daniel Alves.
Barcelona will take on English Premier League champion Manchester United on Saturday in a reprise of last season’s European Champions League final, followed by games against Mexican clubs Guadalajara and America.
