Football Club Metalist Kharkiv has asked the appeal committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) to cancel the decision of the FFU's Control and Disciplinary Committee to deprive the club of nine points in the 2010/2011 season.

FC Metalist believes that the decision was made by FFU’s Control and Disciplinary Committee with multiple violations of procedural rules of statutory and regulatory documents of the FFU, UEFA and FIFA, including gross violations of disciplinary rules of the FFU and Ukraine’s laws, the club told Interfax-Ukraine.

The club said that they sent a relevant request to the appeal committee on Wednesday.

As reported, the FFU’s Control and Disciplinary Committee deprived FC Metalist of nine points because of an allegedly fixed match between FC Metalist Kharkiv and FC Karpaty Lviv during the 2007-2008 season and imposed a number of other sanctions on the club’s leadership.
