A unique collection of 60 oil paintings by prominent French impressionists went on display in the National Art Museum of Ukraine on Sept. 2. It's the first time the works of Goustave Courbet, Claude Monet, Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, Charles Daubigny, Jean-Edouard Vuillard, and Raoul Dufy have been exhibited under one roof in Kyiv.
The exhibition is called “Normandy in Paintings.” It features landscapes, still life, animalistic and everyday life paintings in which artists expressed admiration with the beauty of Normandy, the northern region of France known for its picturesque rugged coastline and beautiful nature. The exhibition is a part of a 120-piece collection of paintings created between the 18 and 20 centuries. It is owned by Lower Normandy Regional Council.
