Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko has said he hopes that the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, will adopt a law on pension reform within one-and-a-half months.

"Over one-and-a-half months of the Verkhovna Rada’s work we must take a decision on pension reform," he said during a video link with Ukrainian cities in Kyiv on Thursday.

Tigipko noted that the work on pension reform is going on, and ways are being sought to economically stimulate people to work more, as well as to give women aged 50 the chance to decide whether they should retire or continue working.
