The Central Election Commission of Ukraine has completed the registration of candidates for people's deputies, CEC Deputy Head Andriy Mahera has said.

After the CEC meeting on Monday, he said that on the whole the CEC
registered 5,771 parliamentary candidates, including 2,644 on party
lists and 3,127 in single-seat constituencies.

The CEC registered party tickets of 22 parties. Candidates from a
total of 89 parties will participate in the elections. They will run
either on party lists or in single-member constituencies.

Mahera did not rule out that candidates might appeal to courts
against the CEC decision to deny them registration. According to him,
this can be done within five days after the denial of registration, that
is, until August 23.

The deputy head of the Central Election Commission said that only the
CEC received documents from 6,214 candidates for registration. It
refused to register 443 candidates, including 140 from party tickets and
303 nominees in single-member constituencies.
