You're reading: Gryshchenko introduces new Lviv regional governor to local officials

Lviv – Deputy Prime Minister Kostiantyn Gryshchenko  has introduced the new head of Lviv Regional State Administration, Viktor Shemchuk, to regional officials, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported. 

Hryschenko read out the decrees to dismissal Mykhailo Kostiuk from the post of the head of Lviv Regional State Administration and appoint Shemchuk in his place. Both decrees are dated March 4.

In his speech, Gryshchenko said that Kostiuk will have a new executive post, but did not say which.

The newly appointed governor, Shemchuk, pledged to complete the best reforms that were started by his predecessor. He also said that his priority was the welfare and security of local residents and the economic development of the region. The new governor also promised to put a stop to corruption and bribery.
