You're reading: Numerous parties, associations plan rallies in Kyiv on Sunday

Kyiv City State Administration has received 17 notifications on holding mass rallies in the central part of the city on Sunday, November 24.

In particular, the organizers of a rally on Independence Square have notified the city administration of their plans to gather over 90,000 people.

The Batkivschyna party intends to gather 35,000 people to march from Shevchenko Park via Volodymyrska Street to Taras Shevchenko Boulevard and hold a rally there under the motto ‘For European Ukraine’.

The European Party of Ukraine and the UDAR party intend to gather 3,000 people each for their rallies.

Parliamentarian Pavlo Petrenko of the Batkivschyna party has filed notification on holding a similar rally of 3,500 people, and parliamentarian Leonid Yemets from the same party plans to meet with 50,000 voters on European Square from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m..

Some 50,000 supporters of the Ukrainian national football team plan to gather near Dynamo Stadium not far from European Square from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The same day, the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs intends to gather 10,000 people under the motto ‘Building Ukraine in Europe’ on Mykhailivska Square from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parliamentarian Oksana Kaletnyk of the Communist Party and the Parents’ Committee of Ukraine plan a rally of 2,000 people in support for the government’s decision not to sign an association agreement with the EU.

A rally of 5,000 people discontented with the UDAR party’s failure to pay remuneration for their work during the 2012 parliamentary election campaign will gather not far from the monument to Taras Shevchenko from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Ukrainian Consulting and Media Group intends to arrange a flash mob of 120 people welcoming the unveiling of the Gulliver shopping and recreation center on Khreschatyk Street the same day.
