You're reading: Poroshenko tops Ukrainian presidential candidate electoral rating

 Ukrainian presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko's electoral rating has risen slightly over the past four weeks and Yulia Tymoshenko's curved down a little, according to a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center pollster. The poll was held from April 25 to 29 among 2,012 respondents over 18 years of age. The margin of error did not exceed 2.3% with a probability of 0.95%.The figures obtained were announced at a press conference at the Interfax office in Kyiv on May 6.

 If the presidential elections were held on May 6 Poroshenko would muster 33.3% of all respondents, or 47.7% of those who want to take part in voting and have made up their minds.

Presidential candidate Tymoshenko would win 10% of the votes of all respondents, or 14.8% of those who will participate and have made up their minds.

Compared to a similar poll conducted from March 28 to April 2 Poroshenko’s electoral rating rose from 28.2% among all those polled, and Tymoshenko’s rating fell from 13% to 10%.

Sergiy Tigipko would score 4.9% of the votes of all respondents and 6.7% of respondents who will take part in voting and have chosen a candidate. Leader of the Civic Position party Anatoliy Hrytsenko would be supported by, 4% and 5.6% respondents in the respective groups, Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko would be backed by, respectively, 3.7% and 5%, Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko by 4.1% and 4.5%, and Mykhailo Dobkin by, respectively, 3.4% and 4.2%.

Just over 17% of respondents were undecided and 11% said they would not take part in voting.

Poroshenko would win confidently in the second round, and, if paired with Tymoshenko, would muster 47.2% against Tymoshenko’s 11.6%, paired with Tigipko 53.6% against 10.4% and with Dobkin 55.7% against 7.7%.
