Svoboda Party leader Oleh Tiahnybok has submitted a statement to Rodion Kireyev, a judge of Kyiv's Pechersky District Court, that he is ready to stand bail for former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

"On the basis of Article 152 of the Criminal Procedure Code, we’re appealing to you with this statement, in which we inform you that we are obligated to take Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko on bail during the consideration of criminal case No. 49-3151. We vouch for her proper behavior regarding her attendance in court after each summons and guarantee her presence in court on each demand," he said in a statement cited by the party’s press office on Monday.

Tiahnybok also asked the judge to change the measure of restraint for Tymoshenko from arrest "to our personal bail."
