The Communist Party of Ukraine and the Party of Regions have not concluded any agreements concerning the support of Mykola Azarov's candidacy for prime minister's post, Communist Party faction leader Petro Symonenko has said.

“We had no agreements with anyone at all. We held no meetings, except that
Azarov attended a meeting of the faction and said that they would consider the
issue of Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union. One of the reasons for our
support was this statement that the government was ready to implement the
program on Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union,” Symonenko said.

He also said that the Communist Party intended to monitor the implementation
of the promises both by the opposition and the authorities.

Finally, Symonenko added that should Azarov fails to fulfill the promise of
Ukraine’s joining the Customs Union, the Communists would initiate his
resignation.
