Sergiy Tigipko has said he is not planning to work in the government of Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

“I’ve already had a conversation with the president and the prime
minister, and I have decided that I will remain an MP,” he said live on
the Inter TV Channel late on Friday.

Explaining his decision, Tigipko said: “Now it’s very important for the Regions Party to deal with ideology.”

He said that “the parliamentary elections showed that politics in Ukraine is becoming more ideological.”

“I believe that the Regions Party should respond to this, so we’ll deal with ideology,” Tigipko said.
