Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, Mykola Tomenko, who was elected to the parliament by BYT party lists, has announced that he resigns from the position.

"It is not correct and impossible to stay further in such a presidium of such a Verkhovna Rada. Yesterday I resigned as deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and I hope that the parliament will consider and approve my decision," he said at a news briefing on July 4.
