Zaporizhia - Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he will sign a planned law to allow convicts to undergo medical treatment abroad if it is passed by parliament but warned against such a law offering "a technology for the evasion of prosecution."

Five drafts for the planned law have been introduced to parliament,
and “if a consensus is found and an appropriate procedure is set, and if
it isn’t a way for people to evade prosecution, I think such a law will
be passed and it will apply not only to Tymoshenko, it will apply to
all citizens. Such is the position of the [parliament] deputies with
whom I’ve had a lot of various consultations,” Yanukovych said on
Thursday.

He confirmed that next week would be a week of plenary sessions in the legislature.
