CIS defense ministers to discuss cooperation in Moscow

MOSCOW - The CIS defense ministers will convene in Moscow on December 11 to discuss joint air defense plans for next year, press secretary of the Secretariat of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers Capt. 1st Class Mikhail Sevastyanov told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

"The 63rd meeting will focus on military cooperation, evaluate the draft concept of the unified state radar network and agree to interaction between military command bodies exchanging radiation, chemical and biological data," he said.

The ministers will coordinate the 2013 joint air defense plan and allocations for air defense development in 2014.

They will evaluate the program of upgrading metrological support in the period until 2020.

The ministers will think over preparations for the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and joint search for servicemen who died in action.

Delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will take part in the meeting.
