Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen discussed interaction between Russia and the alliance and a schedule of upcoming political events within the NATO-Russia Council framework on the sidelines of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

"The parties reaffirmed their interest in further promoting political dialogue and practical cooperation within the NATO-Russia Council framework," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
