Early on July 7 a bus carrying Russian pilgrims from the region of Pskov to the historic Pochayev Monastery in northern Ukraine capsized on a road near the Ukrainian city of Chernigov. In his appearance on The Voice of Russia radio, on July 9, Foreign Minister Lavrov explained how his agency reacts to situations of this kind.

Fourteen people died, and 29 received serious injuries. Twenty six of the injured were flown to Pskov and Moscow. The three others are in intensive care at Chernigov’s central hospital.
