Ukraine's Ambassador to Russia Volodymyr Yelchenko has said that Kyiv and Moscow are still in talks on the taxation of goods and equipment imported for Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

“The Russian side thinks that at least some kinds of goods should be
exempt from taxes, while we have the opposite opinion,” the diplomat
said at a meeting of a press club in Kyiv on October 4.

He expressed hope that the countries will reach a compromise on the issue.

“This issue is being discussed and I think that the sides will find a solution,” Yelchenko said.
