Moscow – The freight train that collided with a passenger train on Tuesday carried cargo for the concern Renault from Romania, a source with knowledge of the situation told Interfax.
According to information available on the Internet, a container train called Romania runs on this route. The service is operated by the Ukrainian transport service center Liski. According to information posted on its website, the train runs on the route Romania (Dornesti-Viksani) – Ukraine (Vadul-Siret-Zernovo) – Russia (Suzemka-Moscow-Tovarnaya-Paveletskaya).

The Russian office of Renault has confirmed to Interfax that the train was carrying parts for the company’s plant. The company said it is now too early to speak about any adjustments of logistics chains. “It is now too early to speak about any changes in the supply routes. We are monitoring the situation,” a representative of Renault said.
In the meantime, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said three train cars were damaged in the train derailment accident, which involved Passenger Train N341 en route from Moscow to Chisinau. Twenty-five people were hospitalized and five were killed in the accident, she said.
