MOSCOW - The U.S. authorities are not creating any obstacles to meetings of Russian citizens detained on suspicion of illegally exporting high-tech electronic devices with their relatives, lawyers and diplomats.

“The information currently available to us confirms that these
meetings are not been obstructed,” Russian Consulate General in Houston
spokesman Maxim Poletayev told Interfax.

Alexander Posobilov, one of the Russian citizens detained in the
U.S., told consulate officials that he was satisfied with the conditions
in the remand center, he said.

“He looked well when he met with a senior consul yesterday. No
complaints about the conditions in the remand center were received from
him. He looked quite confident, as far as it is possible in the present
situation,” Poletayev said.

Posobilov asked the diplomats to contact his wife and 19-year-old son, which has already been done, he said.

“We are now keeping in touch with them,” Poletayev said.

A court session, where a decision should be made whether to remand
the other suspects in custody, must have already been held, he said.

“Apparently, this court session has taken place. But its results are still unknown,” Poletayev said.

The persons recently detained in the U.S. include four Russians, of
whom three hold dual citizenship, as well as citizens of Azerbaijan,
Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
