MOSCOW - Foreign merchandise trade turnover for Customs Union members amounted to $689.4 billion in January-September 2012, including exports of $444.4 billion and imports of $245 billion.

These figures were published on the official website of the Eurasian
Economic Commission (EurAsEC) -the national Customs Union regulation
body.

The value of exports compared to January-September 2011 in constant
prices climbed 4.9%, or by $20.6 billion, and imports grew by 4.4%, or
$10.3 billion.

There was a foreign merchandise trade surplus of $199.4 billion. The surplus was $189.2 billion in the same period of 2011.

The surplus was $144.2 billion for Russia, $10.3 billion for Belarus and $44.9 billion for Kazakhstan.

Exports from Russia to third countries increased 3.4% year-on-year,
exports from Belarus were up 25% and exports from Kazakhstan – 7.1%.
Imports to Russia from third countries also climbed 3.4%, imports to
Belarus fell 13.9% and imports to Kazakhstan grew 39.2%.

The volume of mutual trade in January-September 2012 reached $51.3 billion, up 9.9% on January-September 2011.

Russia accounted for 65.5% of the mutual trade ($33.6 billion),
Belarus for 24.4% ($12.5 billion) and Kazakhstan for 10.1% ($5.2
billion). Mutual trade between Russia and the other Customs Union
members climbed 13.9% year-on-year. For Belarus it was up 9.9% and for
Kazakhstan it fell 9.8%.
