A young man from Zugdidi, diagnosed with swine flu, has died at a clinic in Tbilisi.

“It was the fifth death linked to the H1N1 swine flu virus,” Paata Imnadze, chairman of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, told reporters on Sunday, February 17.

Out of the dozens of thousands of citizens who have contracted the disease and sought medical attention since the start of the flu season,”143 have been diagnosed with laboratory-proven H1N1 flu,” he said, adding that citizens should avoid busy places and go to the doctor immediately if they feel symptoms of the disease.
